Office Requirement
Policy Notes
The policy requires corporate employees to work in the office Monday-Thursday as part of CEO Brian Niccol's 'Back to Starbucks' turnaround plan. This represents an increase from the previous 3 days per week policy announced in January 2023. Support Center 'people leaders' are mandated to relocate to Seattle or Toronto within 12 months. Employees who do not comply have the option to participate in a voluntary exit program with a cash payment. This policy applies to corporate staff at the Seattle and Toronto Support Centers and North America regional offices. The change aims to foster increased in-person collaboration, problem-solving, and strengthen company culture.
