Employees are permitted one day of remote work per week. BNY Mellon also offers a 'work from anywhere' benefit, allowing employees to work remotely for two weeks annually. The company has stated that it currently has no plans for a full five-day in-office mandate, unless business circumstances necessitate it. The rationale behind this change is to foster greater collaboration, learning, speed, efficiency, and improved customer service. Most managers at BNY Mellon were already adhering to a four-day in-office schedule prior to this broader mandate. The updated policy will impact approximately 51,000 employees globally. Policy change from 3 days per week (early 2023) to 4 days per week (effective September 2025).
